An exhibition of works created during lockdown by staff, students, and recent graduates across MTU
exploring how the arts have connected and supported us all.
I love colours and words and beauty. I feel that I have a lot to say and I don't always find my voice to say it. Making these pieces was a wonderful way of exploring ideas and questions. Each piece is different. Making them is a simple process. I chop up magazines and just play around with words and images. I then put them together using a mechanical badge maker. I often surprise myself with the direction that it goes. Many of my friends and family supplied me with magazines ahead of the lockdown and I took over the table with all the bits. I enjoyed the chance to experiment. I've sold a few of them via my friend's jewellery business. I loved seeing people looking through the pieces and then finding the one that ignites something in them.
