An exhibition of works created during lockdown by staff, students, and recent graduates across MTU
exploring how the arts have connected and supported us all.
I created these pieces right after I moved to Cork from Roscommon for college. Living in the countryside made it harder to grasp the severity of COVID and the measures that needed to be taken in public as where I lived running into people wasn’t something I had to worry about (I practically lived in the bog). I made these pieces in response to the difference I saw when I had moved and the uneasy feelings I had surrounding not wearing a mask in public which was almost like a type of culture shock to me.
